Andrew Dean is Lecturer in Writing and Literature at Deakin University. His research has focused on (1) post-Second World War global metafiction, (2) colonialism and postcolonialism, and (3) comedy. Andrew’s first academic book, “Metafiction and the Postwar Novel: Foes, Ghosts, and Faces in the Water”, was published by Oxford University Press in April 2021. The book examines the origins, poetics, and capacities of self-reflexive prose fiction after World War II. It focuses on three authors: J. M. Coetzee, Janet Frame, and Philip Roth.
